O Reid's Palace, a Belmond Hotel, é um refúgio lendário na Madeira. A sua história começou com um escocês, William Reid, que construiu um próspero negócio de exportação de vinhos na ilha. Ele decidiu construir um hotel palaciano no promontório com vista para o Funchal. Abriu em 1891 e passou a atrair ilustres hóspedes, desde Sissi, a Imperatriz da Áustria, até Winston Churchill, o primeiro-ministro britânico. Hoje, a estrela do Reid brilha cada vez mais - literalmente. Agora um destino gourmet, o hotel recebeu a primeira estrela Michelin alguma vez ganha por um chef madeirense no William Restaurant.
