Desde 1951 que a Pousada está instalada no Castelo da Medieval Vila de Óbidos e marcou o inicio da exploração de Património Classificado por parte das Pousadas de Portugal. Este Castelo é referenciado como uma das 7 maravilhas de Portugal, aguardando neste momento a classificação da UNESCO para património Mundial.
