El Áurea Casa Palacio Sagasta es una casa palacio barroca, construida a mediados del siglo XVIII y remodelada después según los gustos isabelinos. Se trata de una característica casa burguesa gaditana con su tradicional patio central, su escalera monumental de dos tramos y la torre mirador, una de las de mayor envergadura de la ciudad de la ciudad.   Los distintos detalles originales que se encuentran en el edificio encienden la imaginación del visitante y lo trasladan algunos siglos atrás cuando la casa fue sede del Consulado y la Embajada británica durante la Guerra de la Independencia Española de 1808 a 1814, acogiendo a Sir Richard Wellesley, hermano del Duque de Wellington. O más tarde, cuando fue adquirida a mediados del siglo XIX por Don Benito Cuesta, potentado marino y dirigente político. Este esplendor del pasado pervive también en los corredores del palacio en los que se exponen fotografías de las bellas fachadas de otras casas palacio de la ciudad.   Las 38 (See more)
