This ski hotel is set in a mountain village, which lies in the heart of the Serra da Estrela, nestled within the urban setting of Penhas da Saúde. At an altitude of 1500 m, the village consists of the hotel and the mountain chalets and is just 10 minutes from the Vodafone Ski Resort. Slightly below the mountain village, the Varanda dos Carqueijais hotel sits overlooking Cova da Beira. Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is 300 kms away and Portela Airport is some 320 kms from the resort. Prior to its refurbishment, this hotel had already become a hallmark for snow tourism in Portugal and was known as the most atmospheric mountain hotel in the country. Since its full refurbishment, this resort is set to become the top destination for those wanting to lodge in Serra da Estrela, whether for business or for leisure. The ski hotel comprises a total of 79 guest units and is fully air-conditioned.
