El hotel se construyó en el histórico edificio de Armazéns do Chiado, hoy en día un centro comercial, que fue completamente restaurado por el famoso arquitecto Siza Vieira tras el trágico incendio de 1988. Situado en Chiado, el punto de encuentro más de moda, elegante y chic de Lisboa, este es el único hotel de la ciudad que ofrece habitaciones con terraza privada y vistas panorámicas al castillo y al río Tajo.
