Este projeto, esta casa, nasceu de um antigo sonho. Um museu que abriga a coleção reunida ao longo dos últimos 50 anos por Armando Martins, e um hotel para acolher todos aqueles que desejam descobrir Lisboa ou voltar para partilhar este espaço.Na sua juventude, o colecionador português Armando Martins, natural de Penamacor, na Beira Baixa, apaixonou-se pela arte e, pouco a pouco, primeiro pelas obras do modernismo português e mais tarde combinando arte contemporânea portuguesa e internacional, começou a construir esta coleção, que atualmente conta com mais de 600 obras de arte. Na década de 1990, começou a surgir a ideia de um lugar onde todas as peças pudessem ser reunidas e, talvez, divulgadas ao público. O desejo e a ambição é continuar a expandir esta coleção e apoiar jovens artistas.Esta visão, este sonho, funde-se num projeto único, que combina o MACAM - Museu de Arte Contemporânea Armando Martins e o Hotel MACAM no mesmo espaço.
