Description
A 17th century manor house made out of granite was completely restored. Because of this restoration and because of its architecture and antiquity, combined with a concordant comfort, the “Casa das Paredes” deserved the merit of being included in the tourist distinction classification of the 'Manor Houses of Portugal' (Solares de Portugal). The Manor House is situated nearby the historical cities of Guimarães, Braga and Porto and nearby the Natural Park of Peneda-Gerês. Nearby the House you will find the Chapel of Saint Matthew his Patron Saint (São Mateus, Santo Padroeiro) of Medelo. Each year, on the 21st of September, the Casa das Paredes (House of The Walls) opens the doors of its chapel for the village to celebrate the mass in honour of Saint Matthew his Patron Saint.
