O edifício do Cénica pertence à história cultural da cidade do Porto. Uma parte do atual edifício é o local onde existiu o teatro Modesto - a sua fachada histórica em granito foi deslocada e montada de novo no átrio principal, enquanto o antigo teatro foi renovado e modernizado. Este património histórico foi o ponto de partida para a identidade e posicionamento do hotel. O hotel é como os “bastidores” desta peça central, o teatro com um ambiente arrojado e atmosfera arrojada e criativa.
